2006.04.15 Autocross 1

A quick autocross type event at Sanair. Not timed or anything, just a local club open day (CADL). Wet conditions, but still it was a great day to test & tune (minor overheating was still an issue, but only after 8-10 consecutive runs, so not all that bad). LOTS of runs, and LOTS of ride alongs.
 


Also got a chance to try out a Mazda3 Sport GT on the course. Great car, difficult to adapt to FWD and a lot more comfy setup. First time driving that perticular car, first autocross run in anything else than a miata... So a lot of firsts! :)

Boston Tour 1

Went down to Boston this weekend for a quick trip... The weather on the way down was "a bit hectic" (especially for worn out RA-1 tires :). Pictures once arrived give you a hint of what the car had been through:


The backdrop is New Hampshire International Speedway (NHIS). Went see my brother and many others run there with a club called COMSCC. A few pics of the action:






On my way back, I stopped a bit to have a look at Franconia Notch Park.. Pretty nice! Also a quick picture showing a cleaner, bit higher and more "threadful" car! :)

First Ride 2006

FINALLY!

Started the car a week early to see if it still ran (it did). Reactivated the plates April 1st at 7:32AM (system started at 7:30AM). Did a quick run at a leisurely pace and then proceeded to change all vital fluids (engine, transmission and differential oil, coolant (+thermostat)). Left out clutch and brake intentionnally, did those late last season and I still need to order a new banjo bolt for the front caliper (will change fluids at the same time).
