Once again, only there for the pics and a ride-along...




The bad news was that Dji and the Caterham were supposed to be there, but never showed up. The car had a sprocket breakdown and was a no-show. :( Here's an artist's rendering of what the situation may have looked like, replace miata with bright orange Caterham (taken from Shannonville this year, I suppose it's not so bad for you now, eh Phil? :)

2006.07.16 Autocross 2

Once again back to Fort Devens for loads of fun with the Renegade Miata Club. The once-a-year event is really good for getting your butt kicked (a.k.a. driver's ed. :). Some pretty hefty competition...

Vince was nice enough to lend me his Khumo V710 autocross tires. Can you say GRIP? They were mounted on stock wheels for that extra sleeper look... Following this car through the twisties can be hazardous to your health! :)


Results were pretty good, but having a sit in Vince's car during the fun runs showed me that I was losing major time everywhere on the course. A final fun run in my car then resulted in a clean run of 1:21.8! Results:
